The best time to visit Badrinath is through the months of May to June and September and October. Badrinath temple remains closed during the winters due to heavy snowfall.

Badrinath or Badrinarayan Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu which is situated in the town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India. The temple and town form one of the four Char Dham and Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites. The temple is also one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Badrinath—holy shrines for Vaishnavites. It is open for six months every year (between the end of April and the beginning of November), because of extreme weather conditions in the Himalayan region. The temple is located in Garhwal hill tracks in Chamoli district along the banks of Alaknanda River at an elevation of 3,133 m (10,279 ft) above the mean sea level. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage centers of India, having recorded 1,060,000 visits.

Itinerary

Day 1: From your Location to Rishikesh to Gangotri

This Journey will start from early morning and total distance is around 240Kms.

You can Book your arrival from us or you can self travel to Haridwar by Private Vehicle or State Bus Service. After Arrival, inform us and proceed with your journey. The total distance from Rishikesh to Gangotri is 240 Kms.

Gangotri can be reached only via road in private vehicles or Buses. The journey from Rishikesh takes about 12 hours.

If required, you can rest in Uttarkashi before reaching Gangotri. If you are going to Gaumukh, you would need pass from Gov office, which can be purchased in Uttarkashi.

Day 2: Gangotri to Gauchar/Karnprayag

On day 2, enjoy breakfast*. Later start your drive to the Gauchar/Karnprayag. The distance between Gangotri to Gauchar is 8 h 40 min (295.5 km).

Karnaprayag is a city and municipal board in Chamoli District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Karnaprayag is one of the Panch Prayag of Alaknanda River, situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda, and Pindar River.

Day 3: Karnprayag to Badrinath
